Made with 100% Organic and Natural Clay. It is a unique product that we have handled for decades that results in a red-fired ceramic. It is a national clay of the highest quality that we handle in Tierra de Barro.
To obtain the red color, it must be burned at a temperature of 950 degrees Celsius. If left to air dry for a few days, it will turn a slightly greenish brown. The clay has low plasticity and is not recommended for crafts as it is not very plastic. It takes on a low hardness when it dries. To reach its maximum hardness, it must be baked. It is not a ceramic for kitchen utensils such as casseroles as it cannot withstand direct heat as a finished product.
To use it, it is recommended to mix it with water until the clay paste is ready. The recommended instructions for use are included. The clay is of very good quality for the pressing technique. The product comes in fine powder, a texture like talcum powder. When mixing it with water, it is important to keep it moist. It is recommended to store it in a bag and close it with a knot to extend its life.
It is ideal for the pressing technique as its configuration makes it excellent for casting. It is not a clay for modeling as it will generate cracks when it dries. The product is designed to manufacture mass-produced pieces with very good quality. Once you try it, you won't want to stop using it for your ceramic processes.
Our products are non-toxic, which means you can make pieces like glasses or plates without any problem. It can be used using the pressing technique.
The product is suitable for children over 3 years old, always under the supervision of an adult, as small pieces could be swallowed and cause some kind of problem, such as suffocation, like any modeling clay or toy.
